Our office holiday meal here was excellent! First, the planning was easy with responsive communication from Melanie. The hardest part was choosing which delicious food to include. Second, the atmosphere and service were outstanding. New chairs and black tablecloths with just the right amount of cozy winter decor. Third, the cocktail menu is inventive and extensive. Finally - and most importantly- the food. Everything was perfect. Flavorful steaks cut with a butter knife. Chipotle mashed potatoes. Decadent dessert. The food here never disappoints.

The food & service was perfect! Kaitlyn was our waitress and did a fantastic job! She knew the menu and made recommendations. I had the filets and it was tender & cooked perfect! My daughter had the NY Strip, again, cooked perfect! We just happened upon it while traveling from Dallas to Brownwood. This is a superb local restaurant that deserves a try! I can’t wait to bring the wife when traveling again to see our kids at HPU!

Melanie and Mike are hands down some of the best restaurant owners I know! Always so attentive and knowledgeable and friendly! Called in tonight about an hour ahead asking for a reservation of about 20 people, Melanie got us in and we had a wonderful time celebrating my mom’s birthday tonight! Brooke and Kaitlyn were amazing waitresses and were beyond professional and kind! Love having this elevated restaurant experience in our small town!

We were in Newton's about a month ago and had an awesome time with great friends!!! Mike and Melanie were outstanding hosts I would highly recommend this special place. We had 8 people and did somewhat of a family style dinner with all of the sides and several cuts of beef including the Ribeyes and New York strips it was a night to remember!!!

This was my families first time in Chef Newton's restaurant. To say we were amazingly impressed would be an understatement. The food was outstanding. By far the best chicken fried steak we've ever had and the ribeye steak was incredible. The staff did a bang up job and the atmosphere made the whole experience feel like a homily little restaurant with lots of character. Chef Newton was great and even took a picture with us to include Master Chief Junior contestant Shane the train that also works in the kitchen. Chef Newton even recommended the type of Bourbon to use in the Smoky old fashioned drink that I ordered. Just a great experience overall. Now that my daughter will be attending Tarleton starting in the fall it will provide an opportunity for my wife and I to come up and visit her and eat at Newton's Saddleback restaurant many times to come!!!

Celebrated our Anniversary there and had one the best dinners ever. The steak was perfectly cooked and the salmon was the best I've ever had. The flavor was amazing. Our server Brooke was so attentive and super sweet! Great service Brooke! It was a perfect dinner to celebrate us! Definitely recommend and we will be going back!

I came in here with average expectations and was surprised to meet the best bartender with a great selection of spirits and cocktails, and even better food! Steaks you can cut with your FORK! And flavor profiles that will blow you away...rustic and ridiculously amazing. What the heck are they doing in Stephenville, TX??

We had the most wonderful time. This is a true hidden diamond, from the moment we walk in until we left we were treated amazing. It was my husband’s 76th birthday, and Chef Newton created a 5 course meal with his favorite Carrot Cake to end the celebration. Chef Newton, Melanie and their team have created a restaurant that not just makes you feel like family but and offers a 5 star menu that is hands down the BEST! On 12-13-2024 We had 8 people eating dinner at 6:30 the busiest time with the college graduation going on. I cannot tell you how wonderful our dinner was. The food was perfect, service was top notch bravo to Newtons and their entire staff on a dinner well done with a full restaurant.
